FAKESKATE
Emilie Pischedda + Valentin Souquet + Barbara Fourneret (Projet Diligence)

(project proposed in the frame of Moscow Young Artists Biennale 2010 "Miracles of the idleness")

- December 7th to 12th 2009

FakeSkate is a performative, photographic and sculptural project which consists in riding the landscape, the city without skate board.
Gathering three young French artists, Emilie Pischedda , Valentin Souquet and Barbara Fourneret, members of Projet Diligence artistic group.
We propose an original work in situ, (contextual in Moscow), its streets, its parks, its forests...
The city, its architecture, its climate, sound so many signs to be interpreted for these contemporary characters.
The final proposition will be presented in the form of photographic and sculptural installation. The sculpture will replay the shape of the banisters of skate, in wood, ending by a kind of organized chaos of boards.
Possibly, one sound track will be created on location, and also, a student desk customized as a finger skate park.

The skateboard is for us symbolic of the statement "Miracles of the idleness", of the leak. Paradoxically, it contains the notions of movement, mobility, risk-taking.
It is what interests us in a formal way: creating a directory of forms of the air suspensions, the falls, the jumps but also, a directory of landscapes, urban, uncultivated, uninhabited; also, natural landscape, poetic, evasive.

It questions a certain confusion of a disillusioned generation by revisiting the skateboard and its codified universe. The binomial, the couple, the wandering, the clothing style, a little bit outmoded youth of both protagonists of this fiction without scenario roam aimlessly in one or several cities which they cross.
